Expected Behavior
•Treat all attendees, staff, vendors, and guests with respect and dignity.
•Respect personal boundaries and ask before taking photos of others.
•Follow instructions from DarknessCon staff and venue personnel.
•Queue respectfully and do not cut in lines.
•Keep walkways and emergency exits clear at all times.
Unacceptable Behavior
•Harassment, intimidation, or bullying of any kind.
•Discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or appearance.
•Physical violence or threats of violence.
•Possession of weapons or realistic weapon props without approval.
•Disruptive behavior that impacts others' enjoyment of the event.
•Possession or use of illegal substances on venue grounds.
Harassment Policy
•DarknessCon has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind.
•Harassment includes verbal comments, physical contact, stalking, and unwanted photography.
•Cosplay is not consent — respect cosplayers' personal space.
•If you experience or witness harassment, report it immediately to staff.
•All reports are handled confidentially and taken seriously.
Safety Policies
•All props must be inspected and peace-tied at the door.
•No live steel, functional weapons, or loaded prop firearms are permitted.
•Follow all venue safety regulations and fire codes.
•Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by an adult for age-restricted events.
•Report spills, hazards, or suspicious activity to staff immediately.
Reporting Procedures
•Report incidents to any staff member or volunteer — they will escalate to security.
•Visit the Info Booth for immediate assistance.
•For urgent emergencies, call 911 first, then alert staff.
•Provide as much detail as possible: who, what, when, and where.
•You can also email reports to the DarknessCon team after the event.
Consequences
•Violators may receive a verbal warning for first, minor offenses.
•Serious or repeated violations result in removal from the event without refund.
•Threats of violence or assault will result in immediate removal and legal action.
•DarknessCon reserves the right to ban individuals from future events.
•Staff decisions on removal are final and not subject to debate during the event.
